SFC Brian Greene receives Presidential Award

PA Senator Pat Vance presents SFC Brian Greene, Mechanicsburg RS with his President's Volunteer Service Award assisted by LTC (Ret.) Tom Kane.

Congratulations to SFC Brian Greene, Mechanicsburg RS who has received a President’s Volunteer Service Award at a ceremony March 5 in Carlisle. His Silver level award was sponsored by the General William Thompson Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. This division of the AOH signed a Covenant with the Army on Veterans Day 2009. More than 30 individuals and organizations were presented with awards.
This presidential award was presented to Greene for his embodiment of the Army values and his commitment to the community shown first by his volunteering to enlist in the Army.
The PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD is a prestigious national honor offered in recognition of sustained volunteer service.
Established in 2003, the PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD gives Presidential recognition to individuals, families and groups who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service each year. The AWARD shares this achievement as a way to inspire others to contribute to their communities through volunteer service and to make volunteer service a central part of their lives.
