WRESTLING: Two York-Adams coaches up for Army honor

Two York-Adams League wrestling coaches have been nominated for the U.S. Army Coach of the Week Award, sponsored by the Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion.

Spring Grove’s Tony Miller and Bermudian Springs’ Dave McCollum were among this week’s nominees.

Fans can vote online for the weekly winner until 9 p.m. Thursday at http://www.TheSportsFlash.com. The winner will be announced on Friday.

In Spring Grove’s 46-12 win over Red Lion, Miller earned his 200th career victory in 14 seasons. Miller’s record is 200-52.

McCollum’s Eagles improved to 22-0 with a 50-18 win over Eastern York.

The other coaches nominated are Vince DeAugustine, Hempfield (District 7), Central Dauphin’s Jeff Sweigard, Burrell’s Ryan Yates and Kiski Area’s Chuck Tursky.

The Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion is also sponsoring a U.S. Army Coach of the Year Award. “The Sports Flash” (TSF) Radio Network will make a $500 donation to the U.S. Army Coach of the Year’s athletic department. By earning a weekly nomination, Miller and McCollum are now eligible for the award.
